Congratulations to CH rider, Grace McLaughlin who graduated from high school and is heading off to New York University this fall! Grace started riding with Beverly in 2002 and has become a very successful rider during those years, most notably, winning the NorCal Medal Final in 2009 on Santo (pictured above). We are very proud of Grace’s many accomplishments and wish her good luck in the big apple this fall!

Ribbon report
This photo of rider Hayley Jacquin says it all… lots of ribbons from the HMI Equestrian Classic and Woodside Circuit Opener shows for CH riders and their horses! Both shows netted competitors tri-color ribbons in jumper, equitation and hunter divisions.
Gwen McLaughlin and her horse, “Finding Nemo” turned in strong equitation performances at the Sonoma Horse Park event, earning red ribbons in the THIS, and NorCal 3′ Medals, along with a white ribbon in the Pickwick Junior/Amateur Medal.
At the Woodside show, Marguerite Burbank’s sale horse “Stuart,” captured Championships in the Pre-Green, and Low Hunter divisions, along with a Reserve Championship in the Adult Amateur Hunter older division, and several great ribbons in the equitation and medal classes.
Evelyn Steyer and her mount Portland had top finishes in several classes, including a championship in the Equitation 18 – 35 division, firsts in the Ariat National Adult, Horse & Hound and Foxfield Medals, and seconds in the NorCal Senior, Pickwick and Hudson & Company Medals.
Rounding up the field in the jumper division, Jennifer Anakar’s Upolu earned championships in the ’90 Jumper and .90 Children’s/Adult Amateur divisions.

FOR SALE: Emerald City
“Toto” is a 12-year-old, 16.1 hand, very handsome bay Warmblood gelding. He is the perfect first horse! Suitable for the short-stirrup through 3′ hunter and equitation divisions, Toto is a good mover and a good jumper. He is sound, quiet, honest, and has an easy lead change. This horse will be a lovely addition to any barn!

Congratulations to CH rider, Sarina Kernberg, who is graduating from high school and heading off to attend college at University of California, Berkeley this fall. Sarina and her very green horse, “Perfect”, (pictured below) started riding with Beverly in the fall of 2007. They have worked hard over the years and have enjoyed lots of successes. We are very proud of Sarina and wish her good luck!!

Congratulations to CH rider, Kelly Martin, who is graduating from high school this year and going on to study Marine Science at the University of Miami this fall! Kelly started riding with Beverly at age 13 when she was in the 7th grade. Kelly has been a working student at the barn and has had great success on her ponies and horses, including “Believable” (pictured below). Good luck Kelly – we are all so proud of you!!
Emerging Athlete Tylor Nowell
Congratulations to Chestnut Hill rider, Tylor Nowell on qualifying for the Emerging Athletes Program (EAP) I for Zone 10 which took place at the Hansen Dam Equestrian Center May 7 and 8th. The mission of the EAP, which is sponsored by the USHJA, is to develop well rounded horsemen and women by identifying and nurturing young talented riders and giving them support and help to fully achieve their potential.
Tylor and her horse Proverb, are pictured above with clinician Melanie Smith Taylor, who is internationally recognized as a Grandprix rider and trainer.
Congratulations to CH Graduate
Many Chestnut Hill riders will be graduating from high school and heading off to college this fall. Emily Lewis (pictured above) started riding with Beverly in August of ’04, as an 11-year-old. She bought her current horse, Impromptu (Boone) in September of ’06, and the pair has enjoyed lots of success. This fall, she is heading off to Tufts University! Congratulations and good luck Emily – we are very proud of you!
Woodside Spring Classic Results
The second week at Woodside was terrific, with riders and their mounts turning in strong performances. Results include nine tri-color ribbons along with a slew of blues, reds and yellows. Woodside Spring Preview Results
