Two weeks @ Woodside nets great results!

Congratulations to the Chestnut Hill team for an incredible two weeks of showing at the Horse Park at Woodside! The ribbon tally for the two weeks include: twelve hunter division championships, five hunter reserve championships, four equitation reserve championships (including Gwen McLaughlin and “Capito,” pictured above, in the Equitation 11 & Under), three hunter classic firsts, nine medal firsts and countless additional great ribbons and efforts too numerous to mention.  Take a moment to check out the complete list by clicking on the “Results” button in the navigation bar above.

The trainers, grooms, horses, ponies, and riders will now take a much deserved break from the show ring and gear up for a two-day clinic with noted East Coast trainer and rider, Ben Guanciale before heading off for two weeks of showing at Pebble Beach in late July.

New Pony – Otteridge Black Hawk

Congratulations to Tylor Nowell on the lease of “Hawk,” a 10-year old 14.2 hand paint gelding. Look for this new pair in the large pony hunters, as well as the equitation and medal classes. They are off to a great start, with a Reserve Championship in the pony equitation division at their first show, and a Championship in the large pony hunter division at their second show!

Thank you to Ben Guanciale and Stacey Schafer for finding this fancy, eye-catching pony and to owner Amanda Groher. Continued good luck Tylor and Hawk!

Congrats to Jovais family grads!

Trainer Beverly (left) and husband Chris Jovais (right) were proud parents of two graduates this year. Youngest daughter Emily (next to Beverly) graduated from Marin County’s Branson School and will attend Scripps College in Claremont, CA in the fall. Oldest daughter Alicia (next to father Chris) graduated Summa Cum Laude from Scripps College in Claremont, CA and is currently working at the law firm of Gordon and Rees in San Francisco. All three girls – Alicia (below, left) Olivia (below, middle) and Emily (below, right) grew up riding and have successfully shown on the “A” circuit.
